For Amanda Seyfried, nothing involving her beloved dog Finn is a chore.

The 29-year-old Ted 2 star was the picture of elegance as she made time to walk the Australian shepherd before heading off to a New York Fashion Week bash on Wednesday.

Amanda managed to squeeze her slender frame into a low-cut little black velvet dress that showed off a hint of her lacy black brassiere and her bare, lean legs.

She's usually so casual on these jaunts with her four-legged friend, but on this occasion she added a pair of black ankle-strapped heels and even clasped a small black clutch.

The blonde beauty added a sparkling necklace that was definitely fashion savvy and a sleek hairstyle that made her elegantly made-up face stand out.

Her large eyes got a boost thanks to dark liner while a light trace of rouge touched her cheeks.

Finn just seemed happy to be out in the fresh air and his long, brown coat had the shine of a fresh brushing.

The duo can often be seen combing the neighbourhood together, popping by the local grocery store or a coffeehouse.

Amanda might not have had the luxury of a long, relaxing stroll on this occasion however.

After the walk, she was seen leaving her city abode and taking long strides towards the nearest available ride to the event.

Just last week, Amanda was spotted in chic attire at the USTA Opening Night Gala in New York City.

Amanda was wearing a black frock with white prim collar and a white scalloped hemline.

Meanwhile, with her 30th birthday approaching in two months, the hard-working star appears to be thinking about other more personal things like motherhood.

She recently told Marie Claire: 'I keep feeling like my eggs are dying off. I need to get on it… I want a child. Badly.

'I want to be a mother, badly. That's what I feel. I've been feeling it for like, two years. I'm not ready but nobody's ready. It changes everything… so how you can ever be ready for that?'
