'I'm proud to be a size 12 girl': Junk food fan Nina Rolleston declares she wants to be a role model for 'real' women after mean weight jibes on The Bachelor

She was unceremoniously booted off The Bachelor with Sam Wood declaring he had never dated anyone so 'loud and proud' before.

But wedding planner Nina Rolleston insists the 35-year-old gym owner doesn't know the true her as she assumes the mantle of being a positive influence for 'real' women.

The size 12 bachelorette, who was the target of mean jibes on the show by intruder Rachel Moore, told news.com.au: 'I’m quite happy that I’m not a size 8, and I’m very proud in the size that I am.'

Defending her curvaceous figure, the raven-haired Queenslander, 28, went on: 'I think it’s a really positive influence for girls out there who look at the show and think that everyone has to be super skinny.

'I feel like I’ve been that model for the real girls,' she said, adding: 'I’m very proud that I am a size 12 girl.'

Last week, unbeknown to her, Nina was the target of an unkind piece-to-camera by blonde socialite Rachel who went on about her weight and 'junk food' habits.

'Nina's got no concern, she eats junk food and she's trying to get a guy,' Rachel candidly told cameramen before launching into a full-on tirade.

'Nina would brag about how she doesn't like health and fitness and she doesn't work out and she eats junk food. If Sam wants all of that, that's his deal.'

Perhaps thinking better of her unprovoked attack, Rachel then attempted to justify herself by pointing out that Tasmanian-born Sam owns a children's fitness business, Gecko Sports.

Sticking the knife in: Rachel Moore told the show love rival Nina would brag about eating junk food and not working out, traits, she believes,  gym junkie Sam Wood would not approve of

'What about someone that's passionate about health and fitness, like he is?,' she said.

Rachel's catty comments meant that Nina's diet became a topic of conversation during her time in The Bachelor mansion.

Rachel, who has also been rejected by Sam, was later forced to deny she was 'fat shaming' Nina.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with AAP, Nina admitted she is still looking for love - and someone to share her 'amazing' talent for long smooches.

She had entered the show offering the trifecta of 'brains, beauty and personality' and saying: 'It's a bit of a national announcement that I'm single and that'll help me.

'I'm looking forward to getting back on the dating scene and meeting someone and falling in love.'

One person who wasn't happy to see Nina go in the show was her pal in the house, frontrunner Snezana Markoski.

Giving an insight into how their friendship had blossomed, she wrote in a lengthy Instagram message: 'FIRST - HOW DARE YOU leave me and make me go into UGLY CRY - not cool at all!!! And secondly -CONGRATULATIONS on the end of one amazing journey and the start of another!!!'
