It is a video that proves romance is not dead and one that appears to have captivated the hearts of more than 60 million people on the internet.

The heart-warming footage, which was captured at the Van Nuys Flyaway at LAX in Los Angeles, was filmed in secret and shows a smartly-dressed elderly man waiting for his wife to arrive.

Like a teenager on a first date, he stands awkwardly with one hand by his side grasping hold of a card.

And with the other, he holds a large bunch of flowers out in front of him, while he waits for his partner to arrive on the shuttle bus from LAX airport.

Spotting his other half approaching, a smile erupts on his face and he opens his arms wide to greet her.

The video maker, a YouTube user posting under the name Valerie Jane, can be heard voicing her delight as the man reaches in to give his female friend a kiss before pulling her in for a cuddle.

The pair hold each other tight for almost ten seconds before unlocking their arms and kissing each other once more.

The man then presents his other half with the bunch of flowers and then the card before sealing the deal with one last kiss.

After kissing his wife, the man pulled the woman in for a cuddle and held her for almost ten seconds

The 30-second-clip has appeared in a number of places online and has accumulated over 60 million combined views.

In her original description for the clip, YouTube user Valerie said of the scene: 'As I was waiting to get onto the bus at Van Nuys Flyaway, I notice this old man standing with roses and chocolates in his hand waiting for his wife to come from the airport.

'This shows the epitome of love. My heart melted and it showed me that this kind of love exists. Hopefully these two lovely people who are in the video can see this.'

The identity of the adorable couple involved is not known, however.
