Limón is a province in Costa Rica. The province has an area of 9,189 km². It has a population of 386,862.[1]
Most of the territory is located in Costa Rica's Caribbean lowlands. Limón province has its northern border with Nicaragua through the San Juan river, it borders the provinces of Heredia, Cartago, and Puntarenas to the west. Its southern border is with Panama through the Río Sixaola river.
The capital is Puerto Limón. Other important cities are Siquirres, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, and Guápiles.
The locals call themselves limonenses.

Unlike the rest of Costa Rica, Limón has no dry-wet seasons. It rains all the year. The driest months are in September and October.
