Isabel Lucas is barely recognisable in head to toe tattoos and a striking blunt fringe on set of upcoming sci-fi thriller SFV1

She may have rose to fame playing Summer Bay school girl Tasha Andrews.

But Isabel Lucas couldn't have looked further from her clean-cut former Home And Away alter-ego when she was spotted on the set of her latest endeavour.

Almost every inch of the blonde darling's alabaster skin has been covered in tattoos for her role alongside Kellan Lutz, Rachel Griffiths, Firass Dirani and Daniel MacPherson in new Australian sci-fi film SFV1.

Unveiling her dramatic transformation while filming scenes in Sydney this month, Lucas, 30, was seen sporting a blunt fringe that sat halfway up her forehead.

With an outfit to match her rough and tumble hairstyle and array of inkings she wore a pair of low-slung harem pants with bunched legs and a ripped tank top over a more figure-hugging grey one.

She completed the bad girl look with a leather vest and accessoried with a collection rings.

In between shoots the beauty, who is largely based out of the US at the moment, was seen chatting with her co-star and fellow former soap star MacPherson.

Dressed in jeans and a long-sleeved top rolled up at the sleeves, the former Neighbours actor was much more recognisable.

Clearly impressed with what the makeup department had done with his co-star he was seen leaning across to take a selfie with Lucas at one point.

While Lucas' new look is certainly something to marvel at, so is the apocalyptic like set.

A large rusty iron structure brandished with the word 'correctional' was the focus of one scene.

Lucas was seen sitting at an upwards opening entrance to the rectangular shaped construction and brandishing a plastic weapon.

The upcoming thriller sees Twilight's Lutz team up with MacPherson's character to come to the aid of his friend's daughter, played by Lucas, and reach safety in a future dominated by interplanetary colonisation.

Describing Lutz as 'a very passionate, committed actor,' Daniel told Daily Mail Australia recently that the Hollywood heartthrob is 'very talented and I think this is going to be a very importance performance for him in his career.'

'Kellan and I have all been very work focused thus far but once we get past these first couple of weeks we'll have a bit more of an opportunity to relax and hang out,' he added, explaining the filming schedule has been hectic.
