Too hot to handle! Johnny Depp arrives at Jimmy Kimmel Live!... as his band is scheduled to perform on studio rooftop amid heatwave

The heat wave in Los Angeles showed no signs of slowing down on Wednesday.

Which was unfortunate for Johnny Depp and his band Hollywood Vampires, who were scheduled to perform their tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s studio rooftop that same day, according to TMZ

The website added that the temperatures of the Hollywood studio's rooftop soared to an unforgiving 104 degrees in the mid-afternoon, translating into far-from-ideal performing conditions.

Additionally, the gossip website noted that the band - which consists of Joe Perry, Alice Cooper, Matt Sorum, and Duff McKagan - were scheduled to tape the appearance at 6pm.

It remains unknown if they ever took the stage, as the actor is scheduled to appear on Thursday.

When Johnny, 52, arrived to the talk show host's studio in Hollywood that day, he was dressed for cooler temperatures.

Johnny looked calm and collected as usual when he arrived to the studios, surrounded by his entourage.

The actor had a cigar perched inside his mouth, and wore a few silver rings.

Johnny likely bumped into Susan Sarandon, who also was taping an appearance for the Wednesday night episode.

The pair performed together at London's 100 Club, and Alice was astonished with Johnny's guitar playing abilities.

'He comes in and he plays with us, and he knows everything...No matter what people yelled out, he knew it. "Brown Sugar?" "Yeah, yeah." We realised this guy could play.'

The stars continued their conversation at Johnny's house, and Alice added:  'We started saying, "Let's do an album."'

'I'd never done a covers record so I said, "I'd like to do one in honour of all our dead drunk friends, the guys that we used to drink with that are now gone."'

Alice decided to pay tribute to his former group of drinking pals, The Hollywood Vampires.

'It was Harry Nilsson, John Lennon and Keith Moon and a bunch of guys....I told Johnny, 'They're all dead now. Let's do an homage to them.'
