All talk: Lindsay Lohan lends her vocals to spoken word cameo on Duran Duran's new album... but sister Ali doesn't make the cut

The Lohan sisters were rumoured to be gearing up for a superstar pop cameo on Duran Duran's album, Paper Gods.

But it seems Lindsay, 29, and younger sister Ali, 21, were not taxed too badly in the studio, as the sisters' contribution to the album ranged from minimal to non-existent.

While Lindsay has lent her vocals to a spoken work part on the '80s legend's new album, Paper Gods, aspiring chart-topper Ali doesn't actually appear to feature on the LP at all, according to TMZ.

In December 2014, the actress set the rumour mill rolling when she posted a picture of the sisters with Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes in the studio on her Instagram, saying they were all 'recording'.

However according to the news site , Lindsay - who has made a foray into the music industry before - might have over-stated the sisters' role in the studio process.

While it is now known that Lindsay has recorded a spoken word cameo for the album, the site claims that Ali - who has recorded a number of festive albums - doesn't feature on the album at all.

For her starring part Lindsay plays a doctor on the synth-heavy track, Danceophobia, where she huskily proclaims she has the cure for a fear of dancing before the song drops into full flow.

Last year when Lindsay's snap first surfaced, sources told the Daily Mirror the sisters were each lending their own talents to the band's 14th studio album.

Speaking to the paper at the time, an insider revealed: 'Lindsay was in the studio with the boys from 6.30pm right through to 1am.'

And while Lindsay's own role appeared to be a way to ease back into the music industry, it was believed Ali would be eclipsing her sister's role on the album by singing on Danceophobia.

The source explained: 'Lindsay's contribution is more of a spoken word part, while Ali is singing on the track - the sisters will feature on the same song which they thought was really cool.

'She has been thinking of giving music another shot recently after recording with Kate Moss' husband Jamie Hince from The Kills, last year.'

But while Lindsay has been concentrating on fashion and acting, at the time all signs pointed to her mind turning back towards music, as the starlet posted a picture of her debut album, Speak, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its release.

She wrote: '10 years ago today was the release of my first album #SPEAK #SoLongAgoSunday.'
