Another hard day at the office? Beatrice and sister Eugenie take time out of their New York jobs to watch US Open in Queens

  • Princesses Beatrice mingled with sister Eugenie and friends at US Open
  • She moved to New York in July to begin a new job in equities trading
  • Eugenie has worked for an auction house in the US for over a year
  • British hopeful Andy Murray crashed out of fourth round three days ago

The Princesses of York were spotted having a fabulous time in the stands of the US Open as they watched day ten of the Grand Slam.

The royals, who both have high-flying jobs in New York, took times out of their busy schedules to watch the action at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Beatrice, 27, and Eugenie, 25, gathered with a group of friends to watch Swiss Roger Federer secure himself a place in the semi finals after beating Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

Treat your feet to Princess Beatrice's chic Aquazurra flats

She's well versed in conducting herself in social situations, so of course Princess Beatrice knew exactly what to wear to a US Open tennis match. She is royalty after all!

The spectator sport turned into a gawping match for us as we coveted the young beauty's horse print dress - and then we clapped eyes on those gorgeous shoes.

They're by Italian footwear deity and original pioneer of the lace-up pump, Aquazzura. We love the mahogany hue, opulent gold hardware and of course, that delicate lace-up detail. And Beatrice loves the style so much she bought a similar pair from Topshop in a snakeskin print - which shows just how versatile these ballet flats are.

The good news? Bea's exact footwear is available for us mere mortals to buy too - they're up for grabs now over at Farfetch if you follow the link (right).

Digging the look but not the price? Look like royalty in these purse-friendly options we've lined up for you below. Check out this gorge suede Topshop offering, or nab a bargain at ASOS.

Seventeen-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer did not face a single break point as he beat Frenchman Gasquet 6-3 6-3 6-1 in just 87 minutes.

Beatrice looked playful but sophisticated in a monochrome zebra print long-sleeved shift dress paired with lace-up Aquazzura Bel Air ballerina flats.

Meanwhile Eugenie opted for a khaki dress, an over-sized white blazer and suede ankle boots with a chunky heel.

The sisters appeared relaxed as they clutched white baseball caps, which they both neglected to wear.

Andy Murray's departure from the competition didn't appear to ruin Beatrice and Eugenie's fun as they happily mingled with friends in the stands

Beatrice looked animated as she chatted with pals, greeting some with a hug. At one point she appeared distracted from the action on court by something on her friends' phones.

She moved to New York at the start of July to begin a new job in equities trading, after a year filled with luxury trips abroad.

It followed her completing a short finance course at a San Francisco university, and she was believed to have had several interviews for jobs at capital investment firms.

The first coincided with her visit to New York to celebrate Eugenie’s 25th birthday in March.

It was a move dubbed the ‘departure of The House of York’, as her sister Princess Eugenie and her mother Sarah Ferguson had already relocated to the United States.

Eugenie, who works for online auction house Paddle8, has now lived in New York for more than a year - while their mother's weight-loss company Duchess Discoveries is based in the US.

Eugenie splits her time with her British-based boyfriend of four years, Jack Brooksbank, 29, between London and New York.

Meanwhile Beatrice’s long-term boyfriend Dave Clark, 31, a US passport holder, already divides his time between London, Arizona and New York working for Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic Space flight programme.

The career move means that Prince Andrew must now rely on technology to keep in touch with his daughters.

The Princesses may have initially hoped to have seen Murray in action after he sailed through the first three rounds of the US Open, cheered on by his new wife Kim - who is pregnant with the couple's first child.

But the world No. 3 was dramatically sent packing three days ago after he fell to towering South African Kevin Anderson 7-6 6-3 6-7 7-6 to go out of the fourth round in a four hour, 16 minute marathon.

It ended Murray’s hugely impressive run of 19 consecutive quarter finals or better at the Grand Slams.

This was his worst Major in five years, going back to the time he lost in the third round here to Stan Wawrinka on exactly the same court.
