Claire Deane, 34, was looking forward to relaxing in her house in Gravesend, Kent, which she was assured by her letting agent would be professionally cleaned and empty upon her return from travelling (centre). But when she arrived back home, she discovered the tenants were still there - and the house was 'ruined'. Putu Edie, a volunteer with Bali Reptile Rescue in Indonesia (inset before the kiss), was spotted crouching to give the snake a kiss as he used a bamboo stick to balance himself (main image). The incredible pictures were taken by Barry Goldsmith, who runs a wildlife shelter in Victoria, Australia. He described the moment the pair locked lips as 'incredible'. Cobras mainly eat other snakes, birds and small mammals, and they typically do not attack people.
