'Stop it!' Scarlett Johansson scolds new Late Show host Stephen Colbert over rapid-fire interview style...and reveals she will only argue with French husband in English

As the host of The Colbert Report he was famed for his abrasive interview style.

But it seems Hollywood A-listers prefer to be more gently probed after Scarlett Johansson gave Stephen Colbert a dressing down over his rapid-fire questioning on The Late Show on Wednesday.

After becoming exasperated by the fast-talking funnyman, who was attacked for his 'over-caffeinated' style by critics, she snapped, 'stop it!'

And the Avengers star's plea seemed to work, as Stephen replied: 'You're the guest, so please, go ahead.'

Scarlett was looking lovely for her appearance in a leather-looking black sleeveless top with wide-legged black trousers.

Scarlett flew in from her residence in Paris to be on the show, and she said she has totally fallen for her husband Romain Dauriac's home city: 'There's not a day that goes by that I don't walk down the street and go, 'Wow, this is such an incredibly beautiful place.'

Look lovely in leather with a jumpsuit like Scarlett's

Scarlett Johansson made a fashionable appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert when she arrived in a black jumpsuit by Michael Kors.

The Avenger's star kept her look simple and chic in the mixed media one-piece by teaming it with a pair of cutout heels, bangles and studded earrings.

At Fashion Finder HQ we love a good jumpsuit and Scarlett's version, with its leather bodice, is all fun up top and business down below. What a combination!

Sadly you won't find this number in stores, but have a browse below for our alternative finds. Splurge on a full on leather look from R13 or try one that's trimmed in the animal skin from Bailey 44 for a more subtle approach.

Her dedication to his show won her some gentle mockery from the comedian, who said: 'You jetted in from Paris to New York to do a television show.'

The brainy actress said she is learning French, but cunningly she prefers to stick to English so she can win fights with her advertising executive husband, who she married last year.

The 30-year-old said: 'When you're in a relationship with somebody you want to speak whatever language is easiest to get your ideas out as quickly as possible - so you can argue your point.

And despite the fact she is always a hit on the red carpet, she somewhat suspiciously claimed 'French women are much more fashionable than I would ever profess to be.'

She also admitted that her career dreams had not been as glamorous as here life ended up becoming, too.

After Colbert pointed out she is 'a movie star, a model, a singer and a superhero' - calling it 'all the things people wanna be when the grow up' - he asked: 'Is there something that you haven't done that you wanna do?'

'I always wanted to be a dermatologist,' she said.

Meanwhile Stephen admitted he almost had a heart attack after technical gremlins 'almost' stopped his debut episode even making the screen.
