His dad has one of the most acclaimed careers in Hollywood.

And on Wednesday night Daniel Day Lewis' son Gabriel, 20, took a glimpse at the world of movies as he attended a film screening in New York.

Gabriel is busy establishing a career for himself in music and modelling, but stopped by The Cinema Society and Dior Beauty's special screening of Melanie Laurent's movie Breathe in New York.

Gabriel, who is Daniel's eldest son, looked dapper in a black blazer teamed with skinny jeans as he enjoyed the fashionable party.

A pair of black ankle boots and a string of pendants around his neck finished off the rocker look, with the model showing off his vast collections of tattoos with his rolled up sleeves.

Gabriel got a hug from Breathe's director, and fellow model, Melanie Laurent at the bash, with the talented French star looking pretty in a white, full-skirted dress and peep-toe heels.

It's been a busy summer for the model who was a firm fixture at Paris Couture Fashion Week in August.

The son of 58-year-old Daniel and actress Isabelle Adjani, 60, is quickly establishing himself as quite the fashion face as he turns his inherited good looks to modelling, but has revealed that his first love is music.

The star is releasing his first EP this month, with the three-song record, Every Scar Is A Healing Place, influenced by the likes of Sam Smith and John Legend.

Speaking to the Irish Independent recently, Gabriel admitted he's excited to establish his own career away from his famous father, confessing:

'[I am] getting a little tired of people constantly referring to me as the "son of."'

He added that it's taken him years to appreciate his distinctive looks, admitting: 'In middle school, I was always teased for my disproportional eyebrows. And now they're actually getting me work.'

Gabriel was born to Daniel and Isabelle, when she shared a six-year relationship with the Last Of The Mohicans actor between 1989 to 1995.

Daniel is said to have announced that he was leaving the actress via fax, though he has never spoken about why he walked out before Gabriel's birth.

The notoriously private actor has only been married once, having finally tied the knot with current partner Rebecca Miller in 1996.

Gabriel now has half brothers Ronan Cal, 16, and Cashel Blake, 12, but remains very close to mother Isabella.

She recently gushed over his editorial in Rollacoaster magazine and bought five copies of the issue, as he called her his 'number one fan'.

Little is known about Gabriel and Daniel's relationship, though he was there to see his father accept a knighthood in 2014 and wrote a touching ode to his father last father's day via Instagram.

It read: 'Happy father's to the most compassionate, supportive and loving dad I could ever possibly ask for. We've stuck together through thick and thin but you never lost faith in the strength that our relationship is made up of.

'I'll miss you this summer. Thank you for making me feel like I am worthy of the incredible bond that we have. I'm proud to be your [son] and more importantly, call you my father.'
