Diane Kruger trades her red carpet garbs for thigh-skimming shorts as she enjoys day off from Venice Film Festival jury duties

She's spent most evenings of her Venice Film Festival on the red carpet, but Diane Kruger was off-duty on Thursday.

Out enjoying the sun with an afternoon stroll, this year's Venezia 72 Competition jury member took a break from her duties and indulged in a spot of sight seeing.

Diane was still just as stylish as she traded her floor-length gowns for thigh-skimming shorts and layered on a baker boy cap and sunglasses to subtly disguise her appearance.

Rock a pair of vintage Levi shorts like Diane

She's always one of our favorite style spots on the red carpet, but Diane Kruger manages to look just as stylish when she's out of her glamorous frocks too.

Currently in Venice for her stint on the judging panel at the Venice Film Festival, Diane's been making the most of the sunshine and rocking some stylish separates to soak up the good weather.

On her latest outing, she was seen wearing a simple black top with a pair of vintage Levi 501 denim shorts and chic black sandals. Pulling the look together with a baker boy hat, stylish sunnies and a tan cross body bag, Diane was her usual effortlessly stylish self. If you fancy getting your hands on Diane's shorts then head over to Levi's where you can buy the classic 501 style (click the link to the right). You'll need to fold and distress those hems to get them looking like Diane's vintage pair but with this style being a favorite for so many years, but you can rest assured you're buying something to last.

If you'd rather shop around before you buy, there are a few alternative options in the carousel below. For a designer fave, try Rag & Bone at The Outnet and for bargain buys head straight to Missguided or Asos.

She appeared to have caught a glow while away and seemed keen to show it off in shorts cuts off just above the pocket linings.

Diane matched a basic long-sleeved top with flat gladiator sandals and swung a tan bag around her shoulders to offset the image.

The actress has packed the perfect ensemble for every occasion - confessing on her Instagram page that she'd brought along two large suitcases and a hat box for 10 days.

The Hollywood star looked in high spirits on Wednesday, hanging back behind her entourage as she made an attempt to fly under the radar on her day off.

She appeared to be sight-seeing without long-term beau Joshua Jackson, who's been her faithful red carpet date at some of the premieres this week.

Diane has been hard at work at the film showcase, though instead of premiering a new film, she has been serving on one of three international juries at the annual film festival.

As opposed to being part of the work that's judged, the actress is there to judge the films, which this year have include The Danish Girl and Everest.

The jury is headed up by Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron and also features American actress Elizabeth Banks, British screenplay writer Lynne Ramsay, French author Emmanuel Carrère and Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien.

The blonde has been thoroughly enjoying her time; taking to Instagram to say: 'Getting close to the end...having so much fun seeing all these diverse films...❤️'
