SPOILER ALERT! EastEnders' Jane Beale whacks Phil Mitchell across the face as he forces her to admit Bobby killed Lucy

Fans of EastEnders, and even members of the cast, were all shocked to learn that Bobby Beale murdered his half-sister Lucy in the epic live revelation in February.

But with Ian and his wife Jane agreeing to cover up for their young son, the investigation into what happened that fatal evening is still open.

However Thursday's episode of the BBC drama will see Phil Mitchell finally discover that Bobby killed Lucy which leads to an epic showdown with Jane.

In dramatic pictures from the new episode, Jane, played by Laurie Brett, is seen lashing out at Phil.

Overcome with emotion as Mitchell, portrayed by Steve McFadden, forces her to admit that Bobby killed Lucy, Beale slaps him across the face.

Another still captures Brett as she tries to throttle McFadden while pleading on behalf of her son.

Phil's wife Sharon (Letitia Dean) is also in tow during the massive row and appears to attempt to stop him from going to the police with his discovering as Jane sobs.

Meanwhile, Laurie recently spoke to Digital Spy about the development of her character asserting: 'I think a lot of people are enjoying the darker side to Jane and I think she's a bit more interesting.'

She also added: 'The response has been pretty good.'

Back in February 11.9million viewers tuned in to finally find out who had killed tragic Lucy Beale.

Marking the soap's 30th anniversary, fans of the BBC1 show were stunned as 11-year-old Bobby was unmasked as the killer.

Fans as well as cast and crew members of the soap were kept guessing to the very end until it was clear that Bobby beat his sibling over the head with a music box in a fit of rage.
