Special Notes: -The registers of temperatures have been taken during different periods of time, so while for certain stations data are available since the begin of the modern era in 1850 and even before, for other stations data are available only for some decades.
-Some old data with not decimal points could have been rounded.
-For some localities ,records have been merged from different stations when there are no significative microclimatic differences. If there are microclimatic differences, data have been separated.
-Data have been checked by daily and hourly (synops/metars) basis for every station, in most cases with extensive quality controls, weather maps, satellite maps, etc.... The best effort has been made during several years of data checking, to remove all faulty records and to include all genuine records recorded in any reliable station. This has been possible with several billion data checked with the help of hundreds of specialists, climatologists, observatories's staff and with the help of National Institutes of Meteorology of over 150 countries.
