The former child actor recently received backlash after she took to Twitter and posted a picture of her upcoming album cover which featured a completely naked Gomez.

J Cruz, host of The Cruz Show questioned the former child actor why she posed nude for the album cover.

'That kind of was interesting,' she noted as she pointed out that she did a similar topless photo shoot for V magazine earlier this year.

'At the end of the day, this is not going to be a subject once the album comes out. The music is going to take over because that's how confident I am about it.'

Selena explained her decision to Cruz, 'You have to understand that I dealt with a lot of body shaming this year and I've never experienced that before.

'I don't care about that stuff, but I did start gaining weight, and I didn't really mind it,' the ex of Justin Bieber revealed.

'This is my time. I want to do it the way I want to do it,' Gomez stated proudly.

Grab a leather romper like Selena

Selena Gomez attended the Polo Ralph Lauren show on Friday, striking the right balance between summer and fall. Shorts, because this week in New York City has been dog-days hot! And leather, because, well, fall's right around the corner.

We make this point because we've noticed how some celebrities (Kim Kardashian) seem confused as to exactly what season it is (she wore a winter-y velvet blazer and thigh-high Givenchy boots earlier this week on the hottest day of the year).

Selena got it just right with the perfect trans-season piece, a leather romper by Polo Ralph Lauren. And we can see this romper have some legs into fall. Just add some black tights, killer black boots and layer over a white button-down or top it off with a black cardigan.

Sadly, this romper is not available to buy on the company's website; although a pair of wicked black leather shorts can be had for $179. Click right to check out the current collection.

If that doesn't exactly wind your clock, check out some similar options below. The Holystone Holy Chasers leather shift romper at Nastygal is a dead ringer and a good buy for $175.

That's when Gomez decided on a new record label and fresh team of producers explaining, 'I really trusted people and they heard me. They were really understanding that I was fed up with everything.'

She confessed, 'I was crying in the studio. Then I was happy in the studio. I recorded the best songs of my career in the studio.

'It was such a time for me to explore who I am,' she said. 'That was really important. I think that's why we called it Revival. It's the first song on the album.

'Recording Revival was almost like therapy,' Gomez added. 'It was so exhausting.'
