GIRL ABOUT TOWN: Chelsy's back - to give Harry a special birthday

Things are looking ship-shape again for Prince Harry and his former girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

The pair dated for seven years – from 2004 to 2011 – and have remained pally, but they are now said to be closer than ever after spending the summer ‘accidentally-on-purpose’ bumping into each other in southern Africa. And I can reveal that former lawyer Chelsy is planning to push the boat out, literally, for a welcome home party for Harry that will double as his birthday bash.

I gather Chelsy, 29, has been helping Harry’s chum Guy Pelly plan a party for the Prince, who turns 31 on Tuesday.

On his actual birthday, Harry will attend the Battle of Britain flypast at Goodwood aerodrome, so his party is being planned for later in the week.

The do will be held on a boat that will take Harry and pals out for a knees-up on Thames.

It is thought that Prince Andrew’s daughters Eugenie and Beatrice have played a part in arranging the trip, with a little help from their father who is the Commodore of the Royal Thames Yacht Club.

London nightclub owner Pelly is arranging catering and, as he owns the Mexican-themed Chelsea venue Tonteria, he is planning to ensure there is plenty of tequila on ice.

Harry has been away for three months working on conservation and charity projects, but has flown back in time for the Rugby World Cup. He is honorary president of England Rugby 2015. If the party plans go ahead, the boat will provide plenty of privacy for the Royal who is keen to avoid any pictures of himself looking worse for wear as he hopes to rebuild his reputation after a summer out of the spotlight.

He is said to have matured immensely during his trip, and his change in attitude has been duly noted by Chelsy, according to friends, who say that their relationship failed in the past because he wasn’t ready to settle down.

The Duchess Of Cambridge and her mother Carole Middleton have come up with a bizarre rule about shopping at their favourite department store Peter Jones... they never buy or look at anything!

I can reveal that Carole likes to browse the aisles of the Sloane Square shop but will only buy online to protect her anonymity.

Carole also tries to avoid picking things up or looking too keen about anything because she is sick of people noting what she likes.

It is a trick that she is said to have learned from her daughter Kate, whose every move is watched when she is in the store.

Famously, Bobbi Brown cosmetics sold out after she was seen picking up a few of their products from the make up counter. And everyone got very excited when she picked up pink paint at a different shop before it was revealed she was expecting a baby girl this year.
