Tara Reid shows off her stomach in a cropped tank top... 11 years after botched liposuction left her scarred

She's openly talked of how botched liposuction left her stomach disfigured.

But 11 years after the disastrous procedure, it seems Tara Reid is at ease with her body.

The actress posed in a cropped tank top and black jeans as she attended a charity event in Santa Monica on Saturday.

Get a classic Balenciaga bag like Tara

At an event to support The Heroes Project in Los Angeles, Tara Reid relied on the original It bag, that is a mini version of it.

Since it burst onto the scene more than a decade ago, Balenciaga's Classic City Bag has graced more red carpets, hung on more luminaries' arms and set more fashionistas frothing at the mouth than any bag since the Hermes Birkin bag. Today, Balenciaga is synonymous with the motorcycle-inspired handbags.

About two years ago, the French house introduced the mini version, opening the style up to even more people because of its more accessible price.

We simply love the small size. Snap up Tara's bag now at Neiman Marcus. If you'd rather have a look around, see the minis we've uncovered below from Foley + Dorinna, Dooney & Bourke and Rebecca Minkoff. And Fashion Finder wouldn't be complete without a bargain buy: Sole Society, the Wilson vegan tassel crossbody for $39.95.

The 39-year-old's tanned stomach looked smooth and unrippled - the result of years of work to rectify its appearance.

Tara had liposuction that went wrong in 2004, and a few years later went under the knife once again to mend damages caused by the botched surgery.

She previously said of her procedure: 'I got lipo because even though I was skinny, I wanted – I’m not going to lie – a six-pack.

'I had body contouring, but it all went wrong. My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing.'

But there was no sign of the damage as Tara attended the Cycle for Heroes event to benefit The Heroes Project.

When not attending showbiz events, Tara has been rather quiet on the work front.

She is hoping to return to screens in Sharknado 3 - but it is up to fans to decide her character's fate.

In sharknado 2 her character April was seen in the final scene with a piece of space shuttle wreckage hurtling towards her before cutting to a black screen.

Fans of the movie will provide a vital role in deciding her fate via a Twitter campaign, as the Syfy channel also revealed a fourth installment of the franchise is in the works.

Before and after: Tara is seen right in 2007, three years after the botched liposuction. She then had surgery to mend the damages and is pictured left in 2013, showing off the results a few years later

Sharknado has been a huge social media hit, with more than one billion tweets posted over the course of the movies.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tara admitted she was kept in the dark about the unexpected twist.

She told the publication: 'That [vote ending] was a shocker! I didn’t expect it. I think that’s going to be a big turning point for the franchise. It gives it some excitement and it’s giving the fans a chance to interact.
