Two numbers for one phone: £60 'Piece' adapter adds dual-sim options to any mobile over Bluetooth
- $119 CAD (£60) credit card-sized adapter works with any sized SIM card
- Once a SIM is registered, the adapter connects to a phone over Bluetooth
- Messages and calls can be made through the second number using an app
- Original phone can be used as normal, but data options aren't available yet
Businessmen and adulterers rejoice.
There is now an adapter that lets you use two numbers on the same phone without having to buy a dual-SIM handset.
Called Piece, it connects to any Bluetooth-enabled Android or iOS device, including tablets, and the second number is then controlled using an app.
The credit card-sized Piece adapter (pictured) was developed by Hong Kong designer Dennis Wong who is currently raising money for the gadget on Kickstarter. Once the SIM card is inserted, Piece will connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth and this second number is controlled from the phone using an app

At the time of writing there was only 15 hours left until the campaign ended and Mr Wong has already raised more than $39,700 CAD (£19,500) of his $35,000 CAD (£17,230) target.
Piece accepts any sized card including GSM, EGSM, DCS, or PCS.
Once the SIM card is inserted, Piece will connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth and this second number is controlled from the phone using an app.
At launch, Piece will only let people make calls and send texts on the second number and data isn't included.
However, future models are expected to add this feature.
It is being pitched at people who have work and personal phone numbers, but it could also be potentially used by cheating spouses.
Other uses include adding calling and text options to Wi-Fi only tablets and adding a foreign number when abroad.
Piece has a built-in battery which will last 150 hours on standby and it fits easily in a pocket or wallet.
Mr Wong, said: 'Carrying two phones is inconvenient.
'It is not fashionable or stylish - instead it costs a lot and is a waste of space. That's why we created Piece - it's the future of dual-SIM technology.
'It is a tiny companion device that allows you to add an extra number to your existing smart device via Bluetooth.'
The concept of dual-SIM phones isn't new, however, and has actually been available since 2000.

There are phones already on sale that offer dual-SIM capabilities but these typically involve ports built into the handsets that SIM cards can be swapped in and out of easily.
The majority of early bird versions of the Piece adapter have sold out, but people can buy the gadget for $80 CAD (£40) from the Kickstarter page.
A package with a card holder included costs $90 CAD (£44) and the recommended retail price will be $119 CAD (£60) when it goes on sale next year.
People who pre-order the Piece will receive the gadget in November.
