Tom Hardy is sopping wet as he arrives at the Toronto Film Festival alongside stunning Legend co-star Emily Browning after taking selfies with fans in the rain

He made it clear that he's far from vain in his recently unearthed MySpace photos.

And Tom Hardy wasn't afraid to get wet as he arrived at the Toronto Film Festival in the rain on Saturday.

The 37-year-old actor braved the heavy downpour as he took photos with fans, later turning up on the red carpet sopping wet.

Despite his drizzly sheen, the Dark Knight Rises star looked suave in a knitted navy three-piece suit as he stepped out at the premiere for his new movie Legend.

He wore a light blue shirt which he paired with a burgundy tie and shiny shoes, and posed with his hands in his pockets as made his way in to the screening.

Joining him on the red carpet was his co-star Emily Browning, 26, who looked chic in a very feminine semi-sheer ensemble

Her outfit perfectly complimented Tom's, with the sparkly polka dots on her dress and her dark red lips matching his tie.

Unlike her Legend co-star, Emily was bone dry having arrived to the event under a giant umbrella.

The internet went into overdrive earlier this week when a series of Tom's rather cringeworthy pre-fame selfies surfaced.

But the good-natured actor insisted he felt 'no shame' when faced with the snaps of him posing in nothing but a pair of white Y-fronts and attempting a seductive lean on a door frame.

The Legend star said in an interview with Sky News: 'I might not be an Adonis, but I like to think of myself as an Adonis in that photo.'

'I've got no shame about my MySpace photos, especially the one of me in my underpants which is a glorious photo of a man in his natural habitat.'

And while some might have been left a tad red-faced at the prospect of posing on the internet in just their underwear, Tom defended his choice.

He joked: 'In my tighty-whitey budgie smugglers. In America, they say "You should be ashamed of this" but I'm actually not remotely ashamed – that is me in my natural habitat, thank you.'

The photos of the actor - who is currently expecting his first child with second wife Charlotte Riley - surfaced after he made the unfortunate mistake of leaving his old MySpace profile open.

Tom will next hit the big screen in highly-anticipated drama, The Revenant - due in January 2016.

Starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the gritty adventure film, Tom plays an unlikable frontiersman, John Fitzgerald, who betrays DiCaprio's Hugh Glass and leaves him for dead.
