Alexander Wang returned to his urban roots on Saturday,

The 31-year-old designer celebrated the 10th anniversary of his eponymous brand with a mesh, leather and stud-filled line on show at New York Fashion Week, borrowing from his own earlier styles for a dynamic, hard-edged theme.

The show, which was staged at a pier jutting out over the Hudson River, also featured scantily-clad pole dancers on platforms and attracted plenty of Hollywood's elite.

The dynamic designs featured plenty of crop tops and baggy bottoms as well as sandals adorned with spiky studs and chains - which also appeared on belts, bags and jewelry - as well as plenty of leather fringe.

Unexpected combos of denim and leather were a big part of the new line, including denim shorts with leather paneling and jackets with a leather top half and denim bottom half.

There were also boiler suits and bold-striped hip-hugger pants worn by both female and male models - a first for the designer.

Model Anna Ewers closed out the show with a leather, fringed dress over sneakers.

Following the catwalk portion of the show, Alexander himself ran the full length of the runway to waves of applause.

The show also saw no shortage of star power, with Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Lewis Hamilton, Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blige, Miguel, The Weeknd and Bella Hadid all lining the front row.

Kylie Jenner, 18, also made her Fashion Week debut with 25-year-old boyfriend Tyga in a leather paneled mini dress.

Do barely there chic in Nicki's sandals by Alexander Wang

She didn’t look too impressed, but we would have been jumping for joy if we were in Nicki Minaj’s shoes.

The rapper looked incredible in her fishnet nude and black dress by Alexander Wang at the designer's show in New York, but it was her versatile tan strappy sandals that took our fancy in particular because they made a chic statement without detracting from her brazen frock.

The 'Antonia' sandals are hugely popular amongst celebs and Kim Kardashian has a pair in pretty much every color, so you won't be falling short in the style stakes if you nab some for yourself.

We particularly love this hue because they'll go with both light and dark outfits and can be worn from day to night. Perfect!

So make like Nicki and nab a pair for yourself at Shopbop with a click to the right. Want some for less? Then look no further than the edit below for our top lookalikes from the virtual high street.
