You only serve twice! Former Bond star Sir Sean Connery, 85, takes in a spot of tennis as he watches Roger Federer with Bradley Cooper at the US Open

His suave style may have earned him the nickname 'the James Bond of Centre Court' but Roger Federer looked like he failed to impress the British spy himself at the US Open.

Former Bond actor Sir Sean Connery was seen in the crowd as the Swiss player brushed aside his fellow countryman Stanislas Wawrinka in straight sets in Friday's semi-final.

But the 85-year-old was pictured looking glum as he took his seat next to Hollywood star Bradley Cooper.

The pair also watched world number one Novak Djokovic beat Marin Cilic of Croatia to set up a mouth-watering final against his arch-nemesis.

Federer, who once portrayed Bond in a coffee advert, looked in supreme form at the ripe old age of 34 and shows no sign of having to consider acting as a post-tennis career any time soon.

He put in another extraordinarily accomplished performance to beat Wawrinka 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

'I'm very happy, it's been a great tournament so far,' Federer said afterwards.

'I've tried very hard in the last six years to get to the final, I've come close a few times, tonight it worked against Stan, who's also played a great tournament.'
