Olympic tickets farce: So who is eligible for tickets now?

Only people who applied in the first round of sales, but did not get any, can buy tickets now.

They are being sold on a first come, first served basis from 6am yesterday for ten days.

Once this is over, a third round will begin at 6am on July 8 for ten days – but only those who were successful in the first round will be eligible.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games will then calculate how many more tickets it can put on wider release at the end of this year.

Only then will those who did not apply in the first round be in with a chance.

A spokesman explained Locog still does not know how many seats will be in some venues.

But more than 1million tickets might become available. In the meantime, some would-be buyers may go to overseas ticket agents – although they have been warned to beware bogus websites.
