1860 Munich's latest Oktoberfest-inspired kit delivers big time on novelty factor with mock press studs on a shirt styled like a green and gold waistcoat and lederhosen-style shorts.

This season's 'Weisentrikot' outfit will be worn by players in their September 19 home match against FC Kaiserslautern, the club announced.

The Lions' wacky kit has become an annual event, with last year's light blue gingham shirt worn against Ingolstadt to coincide with the world's most famous beer festival.

The club says the kit is a nod to the 'traditional western look' and they hope it can 'visually inspire' their team to victory at the Allianz Arena, the ground they share with Bayern Munich. 

The shirt with a white stand-up collar and white sleeves retails for €89.90 (about £65) at the club's online store.

Oktoberfest is Germany's biggest party and 1860 Munich will be hoping the festivities can inspire their boys to give fans something to celebrate.

Torsten Frohling's side are winless in their opening five games of the 2. Bundesliga season with just two points from two draws so far after narrowly avoiding relegation last campaign.

Only goal difference saw them avoid the automatic drop and the Lions had to win a playoff against the German third division's Holstein Kiel.
