He's such a drag! Joker Rob Reiner pulls Rachel McAdams off the red carpet at Princess Bride live read in Toronto

He has the famed joker behind such comedy classics as This Is Spinal Tap.

And director Rob Reiner proved he has lost none of his sense of fun as he dragged Rachel McAdams off the read carpet at a live read of his classic Princess Bride film at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday.

The award-winning director looked like he was having a great time getting to grips with the starlet before he finally let her go so she could pose up for some solo pictures.

The 36-year-old Canadian lovely was certainly looking in fine figure in a flattering lace white gown and stilettos.

And after she lapped up her fill of attention, she met up with the rest of the cast to pose up for more snaps.

Among the other big names in attendance was Star Trek legend Patrick Stewart, Chris O'Dowd and the star of the classic 1987 adventure film Cary Elwes.

The long-standing event is organised by Canadian director Jason Reitman, and when he announced his latest pick on Twitter, he noted it had won the people's choice award at the festival back in 1987.

It features celebrities and comedians who read an entire screenplay aloud in its entirety.

Reitman tweeted: 'In 1987, 'Princess Bride' won Toronto Film Festival. On Sept. 12th, we're going to pay tribute to that perfect script."

Previous live reads at include American Beauty, which featured Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston in Kevin Spacey's, and Boogie Nights, where, bizarrly, Jesse Eisenberg played Mark Wahlberg's uncommonly talented Dirk Diggler.
