Royal Hit

Bumper king Alan Swinbank looks to have unearthed another gem in 12-length Wetherby scorer Royal Riviera.

This gelding looks hot enough to switch back to the Flat, a ploy Swinbank has employed very effectively with horses such as Alfie Flitts, Collier Hill and Turbo Linn.

Cool Olly

Ride of the weekend goes to Oliver Greenall, current leader in the amateur jockeys’ title race.

He refused to get sucked into the early pace in the gruelling three-mile chase at Chepstow before delivering Welsh National possible Le Beau Bai.

A very mature performance.
