Fashion fit for a (very expensive) princess: Beatrice hobnobs with the stars in New York as she takes in the Tommy Hilfiger show

  • Princess Beatrice was spotted taking in the Tommy Hilfiger show
  • She relocated to New York in July to take up a job at a private equities firm
  • 27-year-old was seen posing for photos with the veteran designer

She only moved to the US in July but Princess Beatrice has wasted no time in getting stuck into the New York social scene.

Her latest outing came this morning, when she was spotted hobnobbing with veteran designer Tommy Hilfiger after taking in his latest catwalk show.

Beatrice, who looked suitably fashion forward in a black and white blouse and a short black skirt, is no stranger to the style set.

In April, she was seen chatting with designer Tory Burch and Ralph Lauren's second son David during the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference in Florence.

The 27-year-old also attended the opening gala for the V&A's Alexander McQueen retrospective, Savage Beauty, earlier the same month.

Beatrice has long taken an interest in fashion and has become famous for her increasingly edgy style and penchant for up-and-coming designers such as Roksanda Illincic.

Despite her interest, the royal chose a career in finance instead and worked for a blue chip firm in London before landing a role at Sony.

That came to an end after the North Korea hacking scandal resulted in private correspondence and details about the princess being leaked online.

Since then, Beatrice has become more famous for holidays than hard work and has taken 15 trips in 2015 alone at an estimated cost of £300,000 ($462,700).

Most recently, she spent a week relaxing on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's yacht, which was moored in Ibiza at the time, and was photographed chatting to US chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

Beatrice's move to New York followed the completion of a short finance course at a San Francisco university, and she is thought to have had several interviews for jobs at capital investment firms in London before deciding to cross the Atlantic.

The move coincided with Princess Eugenie moving in the opposite direction to take up a job in London and the Duchess of York's relocation to Verbier in Switzerland.

Despite being separated by the Atlantic Ocean, the sisters remain close and were seen together four days ago taking in a match at the US Open in Queens.

Seated with a group of friends, the pair watched Swiss Roger Federer secure himself a place in the semi finals with a win over Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
