Kate Winslet parades her curvaceous figure in clingy taupe gown at TIFF premiere of The Dressmaker

Kate Winslet has long been a cut-out example of the curvaceous woman.

The 39-year-old English actress put that unofficial pedigree on display as she hit up the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her new film The Dressmaker on Monday.

Kate simmered in a form-fitting charcoal halterneck gown that clung to her torso and thighs before dropping into a trailing little train in her wake.

Her dress featured an elaborate addition of beading and embroidery at the bust but was otherwise smooth and creaseless to the hemline.

Kate's hourglass figure and toned arms certainly wowed the crowd on this red carpet, but she had the advantage of a pair of sparkling diamond earrings to seal that fate.

Her blonde tresses were parted centre and allowed to softly frame her cheekbones before they were gathered in a chic updo in back.

Glitter in grey like Kate in Badgley Mischka

Kate Winslet shows off her toned arms in a Badgley Mischka Collection dress from Fall 2015. The silk jersey clings to all the right places and the sequin embellished top draws the eye to your collarbones. The racerback style will emphasize your shoulders so make sure to wear your hair up like Kate if you love them or keep it wavy and cascading if you're not crazy about them

With fall approaching and all those charity galas in full swing, this would be an excellent addition to your formal attire wardrobe. The unique cut and color will allow you to stand out in a sea of black. The sporty style also seems like it's easy to dance in for those wonderful gala after parties.

Head over to Shopbop to pick this up now but if your size is sold out, check out our edit below for similar styles. The one from ChicNova is under $20 and absolute steal but we love the one from Joanna Chen the most with it's beautifully embellished back.

Aussie actress Sarah, meanwhile, delighted in a floor-length, royal-blue gown with flesh-hued panels at the deep-cut neckline and down the front to highlight each of her legs.

The red-haired beauty made her alabaster complexion glow by applying shimmery eye shadow and a generous portion of crimson lip gloss.

Kate, meanwhile, couldn't wait to discuss her role in the movie being touted as an Australian comedy drama with a twist of revenge.

'I just really loved [the script],' Kate told The Hollywood Reporter. 'It has this fantastic sort of black humor underneath it, which is really very unexpected.'
