Not all knights wear armor, some wearing Timberlands and yellow hoodies.

Just ask Nicki Minaj, whose husband-to-be swooped in at the perfect moment to save her rather expensive shoes from certain death in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 32-year-old rapper and her fiance capped off a stylish Saturday by heading out to the 40/40 Club but when she emerged, the star came close to stepping into a puddle.

Luckily her rapper beau was there to hold her hand as, in her very tight outfit and high silver heels, the hitmaker seemed like she may topple over at any minute.

Puddle avoiding aside, Nicki looked fantastic as she left the club after enjoying some New York Fashion Week after party action.

The Truffle Butter rapper squeezed her famously curvy physique into a bright red two piece ensemble by Alexander Wang.

She paired the look - which featured a high waisted skirt and cropped top with a zip running down the centre - with her silver puddle targeting pumps and a white Chanel Boy bag.

Her beau meanwhile, was dressed ultra-casually in a pair of blue jeans with a bright yellow hooded jumper and Timberland boots.

Just a few hours before, Nicki had wowed in another Alexander Wang ensemble as she sat in the front row of his New York Fashion Week show.

The star managed to steal attention away from the highly anticipated show in a mesh creation by the edgy designer which highlighted her curves even more than her red look.

The event was certainly a who's who of hip hop with attendees including Kanye West, The Weeknd, Christina Milian, Karrueche Tran, and young lovebirds Tyga and Kylie Jenner.

Following the show Lil Wayne, Ludacris, and Tinashe all performed while Rihanna and rumoured new man Travis Scott joined in the party.
