The lady is a vamp! Lady Gaga goes from trashy to classy as she swaps garbage bag mini-dress for sparkly red frock in New York

Lady Gaga went from trashy to glamorous while out in New York.

The singer was seen wearing two very different outfits on Sunday - first stepping out in a garbage bag dress and ripped fishnets before making a quick change into a far more elegant red sparkly dress.

The American Horror Story star wore the plastic-bag mini dress while attending the New York Fashion Week show by Nicola Formichetti, the man behind her infamous 'meat dress' at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Gaga paired the unique plastic mini-dress over ripped black fishnets, and added a simple gold necklace.

She wore a long blonde wig with blunt bangs, and her eyebrows were bleached for her upcoming role as The Countess in the new season of American Horror Story: Hotel.

The singer watched intently as she took in her friend Formichetti's collection for his Nico Panda clothing line.

She also shared some photos of the show to Instagram, including one of her giving the Diesel creative director a kiss on the cheek.

'Amazing to see friends you've created so much with soaring with their art,' she wrote.

She captioned another photo of his unique designs 'punk tableau.'

Later, Gaga made one of her famous wardrobe changes and donned a sparkly red dress as she headed out into the city.

The crimson gown fell to her mid-calf, and featured long sleeves which the singer wore rolled up in the summer heat.

She added a sliver brooch for an extra bit of sparkle, and amplified her colorful look with a bright purple handbag and matching cat's eye sunglasses.

Lady Gaga has been soaking in the fashion inspiration at New York Fashion Week since jetting into town on Saturday.

She wasted no time once she touched down, joining Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Kylie Jenner, Tyga and Mary J Blige at the front-row of Alexander Wang's spring summer 2016 collection on Saturday evening.

For the star-studded Wang show, Gaga flashed her midriff in Daisy Dukes and a black-and-white crop top, and teetered into the show on sky-high glittery platform shoes.
