When it comes to taking to the spotlight she never fails to impress.

So on Sunday as Variety threw a private dinner party in Toronto to celebrate the release of The Danish Girl, Alicia Vikander ensured all eyes were on her.

Looking as stylish as ever, the 26-year-old was effortlessly chic in a monochrome bandeau dress.

With all the fuss about New York Fashion Week let's not neglect that other star studded event happening north of the American border.The Toronto International Film Festival has been in full swing with A-listers like Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams and Sandra Bullock all in attendance.

And stars of The Danish Girl, Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander also made an appearance last night with Alicia looking as stylish as always. Normally spotted in Louis Vuitton, the actress switched things up and opted for this sleek column dress by Rosetta Getty.

Doing well to showcase her petite frame, the Swedish actress struck several poses for photographers in the contrasting mid length number.

Wearing her brunette hair half up and down in a side parting, Alicia kept her make-up minimal as she opted for golden eyeshadow to help make her brown eyes stand out and lashings of mascara.

Accessorising with gold bracelets, Vikander completed her ensemble with black heeled sandals which were beautified with stud embellishments.

Meanwhile Alicia's co-star Eddie Redmayne cut a dapper figure in a charcoal blazer, crisp white shirt and black trousers.

In good spirits, the Academy Award winner was joined by his better half Hannah Bagshawe, who similar to Vikander, chose to wear a black and white ensemble.

The Danish Girl director Tom Hooper was also in tow as were Galen and Hilary Weston, Variety's Co-Editor-In-Chief Claudia Eller and Frances Hickman..

The Danish Girl is a poignant biographical drama that tells the true story of Lili - born Einar Wegener - who became one of the first people to have gender reassignment surgery in the 1930s.

As the film trailer reveals, it underpins the beautiful love story between Einar and his wife Gerda, played by Alicia, who falls for the 'charming and mysterious' artist.

The Danish Girl is scheduled to be released on November 27 and also stars Amber Heard.
