It's set to be her grittiest role yet.

And Emily Blunt was certainly dressed to thrill at the premiere of her new film Sicario at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on Monday.

The British actress, 32, looked stunning in a fitted blue dress that featured a colorful, glittery helm.

The structural blue dress featured a scooped neckline, that showed off Blunt's cleavage.

With a unique fabric, the dress appeared to consist of a raised pattern, and featured pretty yellow, red, green and blue glittery circular overlays above a slightly flared hem.

Conveniently, the pretty dress also boasted two front pockets, perfect for storing movie tickets.

In Sicario - which means hitman in Spanish - Blunt plays an ambitious FBI agent who is drawn into the shadowy world of the US-Mexican drug wars.

The actress, who has become a bona fide action star, was joined at the premiere by costars Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin.

The Devil Wears Prada star wore her brunette hair slicked back in a chic 'do, with a classic center part.

She played up her pretty features with glamorous red lipstick and soft shimmery eye shadow, and added a pair of pretty red heels that blended in with the red carpet.

The Young Victoria star wed actor John Krasinski in 2010 and welcomed daughter Hazel in February 2014.

Premiere: Blunt revealed that the film's screenwriter was offered more money if he would change her lead role to a man, but he refused

She appeared happy to be reunited with her costars, flashing a big smile as she put an arm around Brolin.

The 47-year-old actor, who plays a mysterious government official in the film, donned a black suit and silverly-blue tie.

Meanwhile, Del Toro also looked sharp in a dark blue suit and dark green skinny tie.

Blunt become the go-to actress for strong female action characters, after impressing audiences by going toe-to-toe with Tom Cruise in The Edge of Tomorrow.

But it seems not everyone was convinced. In fact, Blunt revealed Sicario's screenwriter was offered more money if he would her change her part to a man.

'I’m very happy that he held fast and didn’t do that, because then you’ve got a film about guys being tough and running around with guns and we’ve seen it before,' she told IndieWire.

'And I think the dynamic of having a woman in this role magnifies it for us and I think the audience kind of looks a little closer because it’s unusual and it just physically looks more vulnerable to be in that position.'

After stunning on the red carpet, Blunt made a quick change into a new outfit for her appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Florals: The mother-of-one changed into a pretty floral top and skirt combo

Heading into The Ed Sullivan Theater, Blunt let her hair down and donned an adorable matching floral top and skirt combo, paired with snakeskin heels.

The white-and-black fabric created a slimming effect, with the white front section embroidered with pretty pink and blue flowers and featuring a pointed black collar.

Blunt appeared in high spirits, smiling and waving to fans as she headed into the iconic theater.

Sicario hits cinemas on October 2.
