Rebel Wilson reportedly ended her brief relationship with comedian Mickey Gooch Jr after their initial attraction to one another 'fizzled out.'

The Australian actress is understood to have called time on their romance, just four months after going public - and sources claim the split was entirely amicable.

'She ended it with him,' a source told ET. "They got to the point where they both realized the attraction really wasn’t there anymore and they would be better off as friends.

'Rebel told him she didn’t want to continue with the relationship if she didn’t see it moving any further than where it is now -- and Mickey agreed."

Initial reports by US magazine suggested the pair's split has been 'hard' on Mickey- but the couple haven't ruled out reconciliation in the future.

'It’s been hard for him...They’re still friends, so you never know if they might get back together in the future,' a source told the publication.

Daily Mail Australia have contact both Rebel and Mickey for confirmation and comment on the matter.

The pair have been absent from each other's social media pages over the past seven weeks.

Mickey's last post about Rebel included an image of them with their arms wrapped around each other in Dubai with the caption: '#myGIRL #NOTmyCITY'.

Rebel hasn't shared a post with her rumoured former flame since July where they posed for a selfie as they explored Barcelona, Spain.

The funny couple set off on a European adventure in July where they visited Rome, Italy, Mediterranean island of Ibiza, Spain, United Arab Emirates city of Dubai.

'The reservation was under his name...They were definitely acting like a couple. Not too much PDA but hand holding and a kiss now and then,' a witness told E! News at the time.

In June a friend close to Mickey, who is a comedian and actor, told DailyMail.com: 'He said he met Rebel and then within five minutes he felt like he'd known her his whole life. It was instant.'
