She made no secret of her heartfelt feelings for her girlfriend during their first appearance on the red carpet together only one day go.

But after dressing to the hilt for the premiere of her upcoming film Freeheld at the Toronto International Film Festival, it was back to normality for Ellen Page and Samantha Thomas.

The 28-year-old and her other half made a low-key entrance at the airport, donning coordinating hats as they prepared to jet out of Canadian city on Monday.

Ellen looked stylish in her grey khaki jacket, dark blue shirt, and trousers as she strolled side-by-side with Samantha.

She also wore a pair of sunglasses and grey Converse sneakers.

Samantha was bundled up in a long black blazer, white top, and jeans, and like Ellen donned a pair of sunglasses as well.

Ellen and Samantha have been dating for several months and when asked why she decided to make their first red carpet appearance together at the Freeheld premiere, the Juno star said simply: 'I'm in love.'

'Walking down the carpet holding my girlfriend's hand is pretty special,' she told E! News. 'It's pretty awesome.'

The actress, who came out as gay in February 2014, stars in the true story of a lesbian couple who fight for domestic partner rights after one of them is diagnosed with cancer.

So it was perhaps only fitting that she would use the occasion of its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival to go public with the new love in her life.

Samantha also joined Ellen at the special party Vanity Fair threw for Freeheld which also stars Julianne Moore, Steve Carell and Michael Shannon.

The petite movie star rocked leather trousers and a tuxedo jacket to which she added a narrow black tie on a white shirt done up at the collar and shiny black boots.

Her girlfriend wore a matching black ensemble of waistcoat over a white shirt and black designer pants with black flats.

The pair were joined at the party by Australian model and actress Ruby Rose, the newest addition to the cast of Netflix's Orange Is The New Black, who greeted the actress with a huge hug.

Freeheld will hit U.S. cinemas on October 2.
