The trailer opens with Rocky bailing the youngster out of jail, where he has been put in isolation for fighting other inmates.

'Your father was a great man to me,' Rocky tells him. 'I think you could be great too.'

The two-and-a-half minute trailer shows more of Creed's blossoming romance with Bianca, played by Tessa Thompson.

'You are Apollo Creed's son,' she replies. 'So use the name; it's yours.'

Apollo's widow Mary Anne, now played by Phylicia Rashad, who also portrayed Clair Huxtable in The Cosby Show, is clearly not enamored with the idea of her son following in his father's footsteps.

'So you going to leave me too?' she admonishes him. 'You know how many times I had to carry the heavyweight champion of the world up these stairs because he couldn't walk - ribs broken, nose broken, eyes swollen shut.'
