Must have been Sum honeymoon! Avril Lavigne's ex Deryck Whibley is in high spirits as he returns home with new wife after their dream wedding

He has just spent two weeks with the woman of his dreams.

So no wonder Avril Lavigne's ex-husband Deryck Whibley looked in such a good mood after touching down in his native Canada on Monday.

The Sum 41 rocker seemed to be walking on air as he sauntered through the bustling Toronto Airport with new wife Ariana at his side.

Pint-sized punk Deryck, 35, was looking as cool as ever in a woolen blazer, black T-shirt, jeans and a trendy newsboy cap.

His other model half also looked like she was enjoying being back in Canada, and looked effortlessly chic in a black cardigan, top, leggings and trainers.

While Deryck seemed in a more serious mood now their honeymoon was over, he still looked almost as thrilled as he did on the day he wed the then Ariana Cooper at the Hotel Bel Air in Beverly Hills last month.

He appears to have turned his life around after he was hospitalized in April 2014 with kidney and liver failure caused by years of alcohol abuse.

Deryck had collapsed in his living room. He was in the hospital for a month, and doctors put him in a medically induced coma as they worked to save his life, at one point admitting they were not sure he would survive the ordeal.

In fact, doctors told the musician that his organs were so damaged from years of alcohol abuse that even one drink could kill him.

The singer took their advice to heart and swore off booze.
