Fashion shows are a chance for those in the industry - and fans of all things sartorial - to check out the upcoming looks for the season ahead.

But Michelle Rodriguez certainly seemed to be set on stealing the limelight in her stunning ensemble as she attended the Gabriela Cadena Spring/Summer 2016 show during New York Fashion Week on Monday.

The 37-year-old actress showed off her fantastic figure and trademark simple, yet effective, style at the fashion unveiling.

Leather lady: Michelle Rodriguez looked amazing as she flaunted her toned figure in a racy black dress with leather panels at the Gabriela Cadena S/S 2016 show at New York Fashion Week on Monday

Known for a love of black garments, she stayed true to herself, wearing an interesting dress with leather patches hewn into it, across the bust, torso and hips.

The slender and incredibly toned star flashed a sizeable glimpse at her ample cleavage, too, thanks to the low-scooping neckline that finished below her chest, and revealing her to be going braless.

The chic yet edgy dress was complete with an asymmetric hemline - her toned pins more than getting a look-in - and long, sheer sleeves.

The Fast & Furious actress teamed the sexy dress with a pair of chunky black heels with a fun strap design, and nothing else but her winning smile.

The raven-haired beauty wore her locks loose and shaggy, looking fashionably undone for the show, which made up one of many during the busy New York Fashion Week.

She was one of many famous faces at Gabriela Cadena's runway event, including Nicky Hilton, Amber Le Bon and Jaime King.

But she didn't end her day there, as she was later seen stepping out at Kylie Jenner's Galore magazine cover party across the city at the Up & Down nightclub.

The usually black-clad actress changed it up for the bash, swapping her dress for a hot pink trouser suit, complete with a similarly revealing low neckline.

It wasn't any old suit, though: the jacket was sleeveless and included a cool cape across the shoulders and back.

Michelle - still going braless - flaunted her toned abs as the jacket was merely held together with one oversized black button.

And the trousers were low-slung and loose-fitting and finished with an array of zips across the legs, owing to a visually striking second look for her busy day.

Speaking to the New York Post at the show, the humble star - who rarely puts a fashion footstep out of place - admitted she's quite new to the whole idea of high-end style.

'I've always been a very practical kind of individual, and I never really cared to dress myself in any way that gains too much attention,' Michelle said.

She also confessed she isn't going to be making an appearance in the upcoming Avatar sequel, as director James Cameron didn't ask for her to return.

Meanwhile, she looked happy and relaxed as she enjoyed some down-time ahead of filming the hotly-anticipated eighth installment from the popular Fast and Furious franchise - the seventh movie was released earlier this year.

Speaking at the launch of the newest Black Ops video game in August, the all-action star revealed her hopes for the franchise.

She told Entertainment Tonight that, in a perfect world, she would get to have Angelina Jolie as a co-star.

She said: 'That would be sexy. We've definitely got to bring up the ante, man. Whoever it is - it has to be a powerful presence that hasn't been seen before.'
