Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys dinner with Jorge Mendes... as the super agent negotiates new David de Gea deal with Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed dinner with his 'beautiful friends' including Jorge Mendes - as the super agent negotiates a new deal for David de Gea with Manchester United.

The Red Devils goalkeeper was on the verge of completing a dramatic turnaround after Mendes, who also represents Ronaldo, arrived at the club's Carrington training ground on Thursday. 

And it appears it has been a busy few days for the super agent after the Real Madrid star posted an Instagram snap of the pair enjoying a night out.

Ronaldo was recently on international duty with Portugal but has returned to his club Real Madrid 

Ronaldo, who was Mendes' best man at his wedding last month, captioned the snap: 'Amazing dinner with beautiful friends!!'  

The former Manchester United winger hasn't had much to smile about this season after enduring a slow start to the La Liga campaign.

Ronaldo is yet to score this season but seemed in high spirits ahead of Madrid's visit to Espanyol on Saturday.

However, Mendes, who was sitting next to Ronaldo's best friend, has every reason to be happy following his short visit to England. 

Mendes, De Gea’s agent, was at United’s training ground on Thursday for further talks with manager Louis van Gaal and club officials. 

They were joined by De Gea and members of his family. Talks on Thursday night were said to be ‘amicable’ and accelerating.
