UPDATED An energy company from New Zealand has come up with a hilarious way of stopping door-to-door sales people in their tracks, before any pitch can get under way. Keen to advertise themselves as a company of the 21st century, by ditching the outdated sales method, Energy Online disguised a man as a door knocker and captured a handful of unwitting people being frightened away.

A Star Trek actress has been arrested on suspicion of exposing herself to three children under the age of 13 as she lectured their mother on how she was raising them, reports claim. Jennifer Lien, known for her role as Kes in three seasons of Voyager, allegedly showed her breasts and behind to her neighbour Carey Smith's children outside her home in Harriman, Tennessee. 'All of a sudden, here come the shirt up,' Smith recalled in an interview with CNN.

One New York City police officer is trying to encourage people to workout and eat healthy in a way many can appreciate - with shirtless photographs. Michael Counihan (above) uses his Instagram account - which he aptly named NoDonutsHere - to post photos of his workouts and the results of his heavy lifting and simple diet to encourage other first respondents to get in shape. The stepdaughter of renowned sculptor John Chamberlain plunged to her death after spiraling into a deep depression amid worsening mental health problems. Phoebe Fairweather, 23, suffered from anorexia from the age of eight and recently became paranoid that the FBI was watching her, according to close family friends. Fairweather, who plunged 16 floors to her death on Monday morning, lived in the shadow of her socialite older sister Alexandra and was struggling to make her own mark as an artist.

NEW Joseph M. Richardson and Paulette L. Richardson, from the town of Urie in southwestern Wyoming, are charged in Kendal Balls' July 7 death. Mr. Richardson told police he was 'was trying to go along with what he had been told and teach a lesson about alcohol and get him (Ball) sick'.

Sixteen women and children have been confirmed dead in flash flooding that occurred Monday night in the polygamist Mormon community of Hilldale, Utah. Another one person is still missing. Flash floods are not uncommon in the area, but the volume and pace of Monday's rain was a '100-year event' in Hildale, said Brian McInerney, hydrologist with the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City.

Videotape shows a Linden defensive lineman in a black No 1 jersey pulling the helmet off an Immaculata player's head, taking a swing and bashing the teenager with it in the forehead.
