Christie Brinkley seemed to be on cloud nine on this outing based on the smile and the twinkle in her eyes.

The stunning 61-year-old supermodel looked beyond radiant as she enjoyed a dinner date with 63-year-old musician John Mellencamp on Monday night.

The cosy twosome were spotted leaving New York City's Bowery Hotel together, each clearly happy in the other's presence.

Mellencamp was said to be the first to arrive to the hotel first and was then joined by Christie.

According to ETonline, Christie had a pleasant meal with Mellencamp and both appeared to be enjoying their night out together.

An insider told the site; 'The two spent about an hour together, then left together in Mellencamp's chauffeured car.

'The singer was affectionate towards Brinkley, touching the small of her back as he walked behind her.'

Pleasant time: Their dinner last about an hour and afterwards John appeared very affectionate and kept a hand on Christie's lower back

Christie looked absolutely gorgeous in tight, cuffed jeans with a pale yellow jacket and flowing blue scarf, along with sporty trainers.

She carried a yellow hat in hand and wore an animal print bag across her shoulders.

Mellencamp was rocker cool too in distressed denim trousers and a khaki button-down shirt.

This appears to be their first outing as a couple, the insider volunteered, telling ETonline: 'This is the first time they’ve ever been out together.'

The pair did attend the special screening of Bill Murray's new comedy Rock The Kasbah in New York City last month, but not together.

The Jack & Diane singer was previously linked to actress Meg Ryan but the pair reportedly broke up in August 2014 after a three-year relationship.

Although John and Meg reconciled last October, it reportedly only lasted another few months.

Mellencamp proved he'll always be fond of Ryan when he told the Associated Press last year: 'I'm very happy with the time I've spent with Meg Ryan.

'She's a beautiful girl and I know that I will never, ever, ever be with a funnier girl than her. Not gonna happen. I'm grateful for the three-and-a-half years we've been together.'
