A photograph of a Rowan Atkinson lookalike is sweeping the internet with some people so impressed with the resemblance they are convinced it is the man himself.

The post by Reddit user Jewcee Lee, believed to be from the US, has caused a stir on image-sharing site Imgur with over two million views.

People were amazed at his similarity to the comedy actor who plays Mr Bean, with one dubbing him a 'bean sprout' - as he appears to be a good few years younger than the 60-year-old star.

The photograph was posted with the caption: 'My friend's cousin embraced it.'

The man pictured has a close resemblance to Rowan Atkinson, who created the character of Mr Bean while studying for his master's degree in electrical engineering at Queen's College, Oxford.

As well as his 90s success on the small screen, the actor also produced two successful films Mr Bean and Mr Bean's Holiday. He's also well known for playing the title role in the Blackadder series.

Comments posted on Imgur have expressed surprise at the man's appearance and delight that he is wearing a Mr Bean t-shirt in the photograph.
