Selena Gomez admits she 'doesn't know' if she will get back together with Justin Bieber as she reveals to Elle they still hang out

Selena Gomez broke up with Justin Bieber a year ago, but it seems as if the bond is not completely broken.

While speaking with the October issue of US Elle, the 23-year-old pop singer admitted that she has been spending quality time with the Baby hit maker.

And the Revival crooner even admitted she was not sure if they would get back together. 'I don't know,' the Texas native said during her candid sit down.

When Bieber and Gomez - who dated for four years - do spend time together, it is with mutual friends. 

'Genuinely, I'll forever support him and love him in a way that...We grew up together,' she said.

'I think people want it to be different. We're too young for that. Nobody was married. There was no...I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner.'

She is so OK with her split from the Believe star, she has started dating other people (she was linked to DJ Zedd earlier this year). 

'Finding somebody is not my main focus,' she explained.

'I've dated people. I've been on a few dates, which is really exciting.

'But I've never wanted to get into anything serious, because I kind of did that.

As far as her single Same Old Love, the brunette has said that is not really about the Canadian.

'It's not necessarily about a specific relationship,' she insisted.

'Sometimes you're stuck in the same cycle. This is kind of my "forget it" song. I'm sick of all of it.'

The Wizards Of Waverly Place actress also told Elle when she really let go of Justin.

She said it was at the American Music Awards in November when she had to perform The Heart Wants What It Wants.

The song was meant for the bad boy of pop.

'Everybody was talking about the same thing: my relationship,' she said.

'I was so exhausted. I said, "I want this [performance] to be the last time I have to talk about this. And acknowledge this feeling."'

It was a hard turn for her. 

'I was kind of devastated,' she admitted.

'I was like, This is all I have right now. This is gonna be it. And all I want is to move on.'

She then cried during her performance, which was a release for the star. 

'It was a huge weight lifted off me. That's why, from this point on, I know I can prove myself, you know. I haven't scratched the surface yet,' she added.
