  • The 44-year-old has sung for six fans after being inundated with requests
  • He will look back on the year 'fondly' and no more appearances planned

He really is the wedding singer! Gary Barlow has crashed yet another superfan's big day but insists it will be his last surprise appearance of the year.

The Take That star turned up to serenade pregnant Natalie Purkis, from Andover, Hampshire, at her wedding reception on Saturday - belting out hit Rule The World for the 33-year-old and her guests. The performance was arranged by groom Martin Purkis, 38, who secretly planned the stunt behind his new bride's back.

Former X Factor judge Gary, 44, who has serenaded six newlyweds, said each gig over the past nine months has been 'meaningful and amazing'.

Natalie, who has been a fan of Gary's since the age of 11, said: 'Gary turned up at about 9.30pm and walked into the reception unannounced singing Rule The World.

'People were cheering, clapping and screaming and I was gobsmacked. He performed that song and then stayed a little longer to chat privately with myself and Martin and pose for some photos.

'To have Gary there was a dream come true for me. I still can't believe it actually happened to me. I watch the videos back and it still doesn't feel real - our guests are still talking about how amazing it was even now!'

In January Gary announced he would sing for three fans on their special day, but has since made it six after being inundated with requests.

Retail store manager Natalie, née Smith, and dispatch coordinator Martin started a Twitter campaign to persuade the star to come to their wedding.

After hearing nothing Natalie was crestfallen - but unbeknown to her, fiancé Martin had been in touch with Gary directly to organise his surprise appearance.

The couple met in April 2012 and were married at the Lambert Arms in Oxfordshire.

Natalie is pregnant with the couple's first child together and Martin has two daughters, Danielle, 14, and 12-year-old Kayleigh, from a previous marriage.

Speaking from her honeymoon in Rome, Natalie said she was so stunned when the Take That singer appeared at her reception she asked if he was real.

'Martin wasn't really a big Take That fan before he met me, but since we started dating he has seen Take That in concert once and watched Gary in concert three times,' she said.

'Both Martin and myself truly appreciate what Gary has done for us. Words could never express how grateful we are that he came to our wedding.

'He was such a genuinely nice guy when he was with us and for him to take time out of his hectic schedule just to make his fans happy is amazing!'

After the Purkis' wedding, Gary tweeted: 'Well that completes my wedding appearances for 2015! Thank you to everyone who invited me to their special day! What started out as just a bit of fun turned into something much more meaningful and amazing.

'The incredible display of friendship and kindness showed by everyone involved was inspiring. I'll look back fondly at 2015 as the year of the wedding crasher.'

The pop superstar serenaded bride Katie Hardy during her wedding reception in Loughborough, Leicestershire in August.

He sung for couples Anita Booth and Alex Morrissey, from Hyde and Chelsee Cousins and Dean Siadankay, from Liverpool at their weddings in May.
