Fashion: It's loud and tasteless and I've heard it before, so said David Bowie.

Nevertheless he was front and center at New York Fashion Week on Tuesday, albeit as a tattoo on Ireland Baldwin's arm.

The 19-year-old unveiled her new Ziggy Stardust inking on her left shoulder as she attended the Badgley Mischka show with her stepmom Hilaria and baby step-sister Carmen.

The simple line portrait, depicting the singer's famous alter ego on the iconic cover of his 1973 album Aladdin Sane, is all black outline bar the striking red lightning bolt over his eye.

It joins the eccentric collection of images on her arm, including a large floral design, an arrow and and a Hello Kitty.

The model appears to have gotten the tattoo just one day before, when she uploaded a snapshot to her instagram with the Francophile caption 'oooooouuuuuiiiiiiii'.

Ireland Baldwin took a break from the runway when sat front row at the Badgley Mischka show at NYFW. The 6'2" model took in the latest collection in a white wrap dress from the designers' Resort line.

One of the hottest hues of this past season, we're sure we'll be seeing a lot more of this ivory color in the months to come. Ireland's sleeveless number featured a classic silhouette and stood out when she teamed it with a pair of strappy black sandals.

The Yoga Vida studio co-owner later shared an Instagram snap of the bustling catwalk, captioned: 'We loved it!'

However Ireland - whose mother is Alec's first wife, Oscar winner Kim Basinger - seemed just as enthralled with her iPhone as the fashion show.

Although the 57-year-old Alec and his three-month-old son Rafael were not there, they have haven't missed out on Fashion Week entirely; the twosome joined the family later in the day to catch the Carmen Marc Valvo collection, where baby Rafa even got a front row mid-show feeding.

Ireland - who signed with DT Model Management in June - was also on the other side of the catwalk on Saturday, modelling for Korean designer Son Jung Wan.
