Snoop and his friend Dog! Dating app which pairs pals for double dates is trolled with pictures of ridiculous celebrity lookalikes - from Donald Trump and a guinea pig to Rihanna and a llama

  • The app, called Double, sets up double dates between pairs of friends
  • Anonymous users have created fake profiles in which the 'friends' are celebrities and their non-human lookalikes
  • Pairs include a pregnant Kim Kardashian and a killer whale, and Harry Styles and a kitten; Justin Timberlake was matched with ramen noodles

It seems that one troll is not too impressed with a dating app called Double, which matches up pairs of friends with other pairs of friends for double dates.

The app works much like Tinder, but instead of liking or disliking an individual, a couple of BFFs can scope out prospective dates together, and when all four approve a match, they can chat as a group.

In a brilliant act of trolling, however, at least one anonymous person - whose work has been shared on Reddit - has flooded the app with fake friends, creating profiles for a slew of celebrities and their not-so-human besties.

All of the celebrities are paired up with animals, cartoons, and even food that they are presumably thought to look like - though nothing about the app suggests that friends who sign up together have to look similar.

As the trolls are clearly trying to be funny - and aren't actually convince any actual Double users that these stars are actually on the app - they've taken a lax approach to accuracy in these faux-profiles.

For example, one 'friend' pair includes 34-year-old Justin Timberlake, pictured in his NSYNC days and listed as being 25 years old, along with his 'friend', a block of uncooked ramen named Noodles, who is 26.

Other pairs include Rihanna and a llama named Liama, Donald Trump (who, comically, is listed as being 20 years old) and a hamster with quite similar hair, and Snoop Dogg with an actual dog, who seems to be making the same facial expression. Their names are listed simply as 'Snoop' and 'Dog'.

Kim Kardashian appears at least twice with lookalikes. One pair sees a platinum-haired Kim teamed up with a long-haired dog, while another includes the reality star during her first pregnancy in an unflattering black-and-white-dress alongside a killer whale.

Lil Jon, George W. Bush, and Harry Styles have also gotten the Double treatment.

What's his age again? The aim seems to be comedic more so than actually fooling people, and those participating aren't concerned with accuracy; Justin Timberlake is 24, not 25

This isn't the first time that people have set up fake accounts to troll people who are looking for a date.

Last month, a Tinder user named Blake took on the personal history of Forrest Gump, actually managing to fool one gullible young woman into believing that he earned money from a shrimping company, was raising a son named Blake Jr. after the boy's mother died, treated mowing the lawn as a hobby, and liked talking to people at the local bus stop.

She even seemed unfazed when he mentioned that he used to be an 'amateur ping pong player', telling him: 'You seem like a good guy.'

Gotcha! He managed to fool one gullible woman, even after he used one of the movie's most famous repeated lines: 'And that's all I have to say about that'

While it seems unlikely that anyone will find their true love by matching up with these particular profiles, real romance on quickie dating apps is not unheard of.

Just this week, a man who matched with a woman on Tinder flew with her to China, just six months after they discussed the trip in their first messages to each other.

Though they live 700 miles away from each other - he had matched with her while in her city, Chicago, on a business trip - they've kept up a long-distance relationship and have a vacation to New Zealand booked for February.
