Harry Styles tucks into a sweet treat with an icecream stop in Los Angeles...as it's revealed the One Direction star 'has already written 20 solo songs'

He's enjoying some down time before One Direction's On The Road Again tour kicks off again in London next week.

And before he heads back home to the UK, Harry Styles is making the most of Los Angeles, stopping by one of his favourite spots in the city on Wednesday.

The singer tucked into a take out icecream, but it's not all play and no work for the star as it's revealed he's already written 20 solo tracks ahead of 1D's much-talked about hiatus next year.

Harry, 21, was spotted at artisan icecream store Salt & Straw where he picked up some sweet treats, and it looked like the star couldn't wait to tuck in.

The hungry singer held his takeout icecream pot in his mouth as he carried a paper bag of goodies to his car.

Harry showed off his signature style in an unbuttoned polka dot shirt and skinny jeans, displaying some of his tattoo collection by rolling up his sleeves.

The singer has spent the past few days, since 1D's last tour stop over the weekend, in LA, while his bandmates have gone their separate ways to make the most of their downtime, with Niall Horan celebrating his 22nd birthday in Vegas over the weekend.

The band, who also include Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, will be back together next week for another string of dates in Europe, before their mammoth tour comes to an end in October.

The group, who were formed on the X Factor in 2012, have announced that they'll be going on an extended hiatus following the release of their fifth album this year.

Harry Styles, the One Directioner-turned-style-icon, proves that black jeans needn't be ordinary in his favorite Paige Denim pair.

With the band planning to branch out into solo ventures, it sounds like Harry could have a head start as Dan Wootton for The Sun reports that the popular star has already recorded 20 songs.  

'Harry has been writing constantly both when on the road and when doing his own thing. He's managed to work on and record 20 songs already,' a source claims.

'Some of what he's written in the past has been given to the band. But he's been working hard on creating his own sound.'

Harry is no stranger to a hit record, having penned around 35 tunes for 1D and other artists, including one for Ariana Grande.

The star's label, Syco, are said to be excited by his solo plans and are pulling out all the stops to make his career away from 1D a massive success.   

Harry, who counts a long line of celebs as pals, is thought to be interested in signing with top music manager Irving Azoff, who has worked with the likes of Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera, to launch his solo sound in the US.
