Ivanka Trump has learned the hard way that it is impossible to be in two places at once - no matter what you say on social media.

While the 33-year-old was supporting her father Donald on Wednesday night at the second Republican debate, which was held Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, someone from her social media team made the mistake of posting a week-old snapshot of her posed in her New York City apartment on her Instagram page - making it appear as though she was in Manhattan for the night, all so she could urge her followers to buy ‘similar’ shoes and bags from her collection at Nordstrom.

'Date night with my love! (P.S. Shop similar pumps and bags at #Nordstrom.),' the picture was captioned.

Simple mistake: The image's caption made it appear as though she was in Manhattan with her husband Jared Kushner - when she was actually in California

However, Ivanka was most definitely not having a date night with her husband Jared Kushner that night, as she was photographed speaking with her dad in between breaks at the three-hour debate.

The misleading error was soon recognized and the image was promptly taken down - but a few fans were able to re-post the snapshot on their own Instagram pages.

Ivanka looks lovely in the photo, which was clearly intended to promote her line of shoes and accessories.

In the snapshot, the mother-of-two can be seen wearing a fuchsia dress, strappy nude pumps and a pale pink leather handbag, while her blonde, wavy hair flowed past her shoulders.
