'There is no decision': Sarah Jessica Parker dashes hopes of a third Sex And The City movie anytime soon during Matt Lauer sit down 

Fans of HBO's much-loved series Sex And The City have longed for a third follow-up film ever since the second movie in the franchise wrapped in 2010.

But it looks like their dreams will continue to be dashed, according to Sarah Jessica Parker.

'There is no decision,' the 50-year-old actress, who played Carrie Bradshaw, told Matt Lauer on NBC's Today show on Thursday. 'It remains a not-often-had conversation.'

'I know — and [writer-director] Michael Patrick [King] knows well — the story we might tell, if we ever tell it,' the blonde added.

'But the real truth, and I'm not being cagey, is we've not discussed a when.'

The Square Pegs vet is frequently quizzed about whether she would be reuniting with Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon for one final big screen outing.

The actress-turned-shoe designer and entrepreneur continued to pour cold water on the possibility, saying; 'Everybody reads and projects so much into what I say. 

'There is a story. When and if we tell it remains unknown, is that clear?' she added, doubtfully.

Sarah stopped by Today after debuting her latest collection of shoes at New York Fashion Week and chatted on a set surrounded by her footwear.

The TV icon looked lovely as ever in a pretty, patterned dress with bright blue panels on the sleeves and the hem.

She appeared effortlessly chic as she strolled down the street before her interview, swinging her leather handbag in one hand.

Her sophisticated number featured long sleeves and a nipped in waist, with an A-line skirt flattering her slender frame.

The fashionista complemented her outfit with a glittering pair of mermaid heels and silver jewellery, wearing her long tresses down in perfect curls.

Rumours of a third Sex And The City movie swirled anew after Seth Rudetsky, who recently starred with Sarah and her husband Matthew Broderick in a Massachusetts-based play, revealed the actress had openly discussed the possibility.

Last month he told Playbill.com: 'She told us that there may be a project coming up involving all the ladies.'

The actor also revealed that SJP had told him she initially tried everything she could to get out of her Sex And The City contract after making the pilot, before falling in love with the series.
