And on Tuesday Solange Knowles warmed to the theme of a party she was hosting at the Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn.

The singer and DJ looked stunning at the You've Got To Be Seen Green! party, wearing a shimmering emerald floor length dress.

The 29-year-old's frock featured perfectly placed butterflies - one on her shoulder and one at the side of her waist.

The dress featured layers of shimmering fabric, which gave it an ethereal look, as well as providing a peekaboo glance at her matching bra

It also featured a small train as Solange wafted around the venue.

The couple have been dating since 2008, and Solange has admitted in the past it was her who did all the running when it came to their courtship.

In an interview in 2013 she explained: 'In the beginning, I was the one who approached him, so I have always sort of historically been one of those girls that goes after something that I'm into.'

She added. 'I'm not very old school and like, I'm not gonna wait on you. Wait for you to approach me type of situation.'

Her husband, whom she tied the knot with in November 2014 has two brothers and his father was an Army veteran and letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
