She revealed that she was pregnant on stage in New York only weeks ago.

But it seems that Kelis is taking her second pregnancy in her stride, as she concealed her blossoming baby bump beneath a funky pink shirt as she promoted her new book in Manchester.

The singer, 36 - who performed at the On Blackheath Festival on Sunday - rocked her usual colourful style mixed with a casual vibe as she hit the promotional trail at the BBC studios on Wednesday.

The Milkshake hit-maker - who already has six-year-old son Knight from her relationship with Nas - looked positively glowing as she met fans while appearing on the BBC Breakfast show.

Opting to cover up in a hot pink blouse, the R&B chart topper concealed her expanding tummy with the baggy garment whilst still embracing her colourful nature.

The Acapella singer teamed her bright shirt with a pair of denim jeans, while she made sure she was comfortable on her feet by wearing a pair of studded hightop trainers.

Kelis wore her curly copper hair in loose curls that cascaded around her shoulders, while she opted for a stripped-back and natural pallet of make-up.

And if the singer had been suffering from any lack of sleep thanks to her pregnancy, she made sure to conceal any possible bags with a pair of funky teal shades.

Accessorizing her look with a cream varsity jacket slung over one arm, bangles, rings and a studded black handbag, Kelis still managed to channel her fierce attitude in her laid-back look.

Speaking about the pregnancy to E! News, an insider said: 'She [Kelis] is really excited about her pregnancy.'

'She has a great support system from her family and friends. She is in really amazing spirits.'
