He's an undeniably captivating performer, but in recent years, Chris Brown has become more known for his bad boy ways off-stage.

Now the results of his previous controversies are reportedly jeopardising his chances at performing in New Zealand.

While the 26-year-old singer, who is scheduled to play in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth in December of this year, may not be able to play the Vector Arena show he has booked for December 18th in Auckland.

According to The Courier Mail, Chris is seeking a special visa from the country's immigration to enter the country. 

The American artist has been refused entry into the UK in 2010 and Canada earlier this year based on his conviction for assaulting then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

At the time of the incident, a photo of the Barbados R&B singer showing her bruised and marked face was leaked.

'If Chris Brown has been excluded from another country he will be ineligible to be granted a visa to enter New Zealand unless given a special direction,' Immigration New Zealand’s Michael Carley said in a statement.

The father of baby Royalty has reportedly not yet filed the 'special direction' visa he will need to have to enter the country. 

A spokeswoman for his Australian promoter said the star should have no issues entering Australia, as he had been there twice since the assault charges - in 2011 and 2012.

Opening up to host Matt Lauer on the US Today Show in 2013, the musician said his 52 week stint in domestic violence counselling made him the error of his ways.  

'I think it is just proving myself once again and me being a man. Knowing what I did was wrong and never doing it again,' he said.

'As far as [Rihanna] and I are concerned, she knows my heart and I know her heart. I am not really focused on the negative, everything is positive for me.'
